The goal was to pitch a concept that would more or less represent Sidlee over there. Co-worker friends & I created this (fake) real band called Sinagua. The story is about these musicians who were born in the desert and became really popular a few years ago. But like any revolutionary band, wierd things happened and they splitted. In 2010, they’re coming back for their ultimate world tour, starting in Montreal and ending in the desert, where they were born. on at Sidlee in Amsterdam. We were asked to pitch for the design of Red Bull’s new HQ in the Netherlands. Roughly, our idea was to create a space that served dual functions : work and play. Every work space or surface can be transformed into something else. Example, meeting room that becomes a skateboard half pipe, office cubicules becoming an art gallery, parking lot tranforms in a BMX park, meeting room where the walls are made of post-its...Every square meter had to stimulate the body and mind. It was very cool to work with an architect on this project. We won the pitch, but the building isnt finished yet. I think it’s supposed to open in the summer of 2010.
